December was such a special time this year, from Dec 1st all the lovely staff started
to wear Christmas clothing and hair bands, playing Christmas music and full of
smiles, ready to get everybody into the Christmas mood. Our ladies had their nails
painted in Christmas designs, we made Christmas Cards and Decorations and
decorated the home especially for the festivities.
We had a visit from Mr. Grinch, who spent the afternoon visiting each resident and
given them Christmas Gifts. The smiles and laughter ran around the home as
everybody enjoyed his visit very much and he posed for pictures with everybody.
We had a show with our friend Gary on 5th Dec, his music was enjoyed by all, the
ladies and gents playing along with percussion, lots of smiles and laughter. We also
had some families join us in the evening of Dec 5th for our ‘Curry Night’ our kitchen
presented a mouth watering meal of traditional Indian cuisine which was a sensation
and enjoyed by all our guests and the staff who attended.
Our Carol Service was held on 19th December, where we sang songs karaoke style,
with the large screen. Later that day we had a show with our favourite crooner Dean
Cauldwell singing old hits and Christmas songs and this was followed by our Family
Fun Afternoon, we were joined by families for a Christmas Quiz and Bingo, followed
by our Christmas Raffle Draw. A wonderful afternoon of laughter and making new
memories with the residents and their loved ones.
We had another Christmas Concert with the talented Craig Balien on Dec 23rd,
which everybody enjoyed toe tapping and singing along to Christmas hymns, songs
and some of our favourite old tunes.
Christmas Day was spent opening gifts in the morning before enjoying a fabulous
Christmas feast, Turkey and all the trimmings. Each resident received a gift from
Bellavista, and each were visited to open them and have a Christmas day chat with
the team.
Most of our Ladies and Gents ate in the dining rooms, the tables decorated with
crackers, socialising with fellow residents and the staff and all seemed to have a
wonderful time. Some had a drink with their lunch and all enjoyed the lovely meal,
most choosing to have a nap in the afternoon.
Other December activities included, prize bingo, hair by Angela, Christmas movie
mornings with hot chocolate and sweet treats, hand massages, foot massages,
manicure and nail painting, board games, cards, dominoes, cooking, baking, skittles,
hoopla, basketball, chair dance, sensory activities, puzzles etc..

HAPPY NEW YEAR

January will be full of our usual range of activities including prize bingo, hair by
Angela, movie mornings with hot chocolate and sweet treats, hand massages, foot
massages, manicure and nail painting, board games, cards, bat and ball games,
balloon tennis, dominoes, cooking, baking, skittles, hoopla, basketball, chair dance,
arts and crafts, sensory activities, puzzles, quizzes, memory sharing, sing-song,
chair dance, chair sport, crosswords, baking & pizza making and trips to the
Tynewydd Inn for lunch.
